Our Dirty War
While we can all rejoice that the Bush ruling junta will soon be gone, apparently it will also be forgotten. I can just see Karl Rove et al. saying, "Who knew it would be this easy?"
If the U.S. comes out of this period in any semblance of institutional soundness, the political scientists are clearly going to have to revise their theories, because here we have an administration shredding the constitution, subverting the law, committing torture, engaging in illegal war, and spying on its citizens.
Bush won't ever be tried for war crimes or treason, but we can certainly wish him and his confreres a life of despair.
