Advice for Parents To Be
"Everything changes," our friends with babies say from under heavy-lidded and puffy eyes. I know they mean more than a lack of sleep or normal hygiene, and yet what words of wisdom have they offered as we start planning the next 9-12 months of waiting through the adoption process? See movies, go to restaurants, travel, stay out late. No one has yet advised on planning the baby's room, choosing a pediatrician, organizing the house, or buying baby stuff.
The suggestion that we party our brains out while we still have a chance certainly highlights a disjuncture between theory and praxis.
